Jorge Telerman (born November 29 1956 in Buenos Aires) is an Argentine centre-left politician, and former mayor of Buenos Aires.
   Telerman worked as a journalist, and philosophy and semiology teacher at the Universidad de Buenos Aires. As a journalist, he worked in the show of Juan Alberto Badía, where there worked also Marcelo Tinelli, that later became the most popular tv-host in Argentina and owner of media. He was later appointed Argentine ambassador to Cuba, and occupied several positions in the Buenos Aires government until his election as deputy mayor. The last charge he'd at the government was of Secretary of Culture.
   He became acting mayor during the impeachment of Aníbal Ibarra. Following Ibarra's destitution from office on 07 March 2006, Telerman became the mayor per the city constitution. He served for the remainder of Ibarra's term, which expired on December 9th, 2007. Telerman ran for reelection in 2007 and set up Corriente Porteña, a party supporting his re-election campaign. He was supported by the Socialist Party. However, he was defeated by Mauricio Macri .
